(Really my sister's story) We got a call from her a few weeks ago telling us that her son had swallowed a coin and could feel it lodged in his throat. Fast forward three days, several x-rays and emergency surgery to remove a ten cent coin (Australian) that had indeed become lodged in his esophagus. It just makes me dread what I might have to encounter when My daughter gets a little older...singlemumplusonehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15051328458409204822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325294539825251986.post-67724575617952696852012-09-06T05:32:05.149-07:002012-09-06T05:32:05.149-07:00Your daughter sure is a cutie! He got lucky that it was a dull screw and didn't have to have emergency surgery to take it out. We had to go to the ER every day to see where it was in his belly and make sure it passed. Needless to say, he ate lots of raisins, juice, and anything else with fiber in it until well....you know what the end result is. :) He has been my most "accident prone" child. Thank goodness he is my last of 3 boys! ;) Your newest follower from threekendrickblessings.blogspot.comJulia Kendrickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04801873388349623586noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325294539825251986.post-87186824738571286702012-09-05T12:56:16.884-07:002012-09-05T12:56:16.884-07:00hello just wanted to say Laci is very pretty littl...hello just wanted to say Laci is very pretty little girl =)<br />http://babyemilycloset.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/fridge-freezer-makeover.htmlAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13822121827655347948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325294539825251986.post-1939968569593621002012-08-27T19:44:56.809-07:002012-08-27T19:44:56.809-07:00Luckily there has not been anything even approachi...Luckily there has not been anything even approaching the scare we had when my older daughter Arden was just four days old. I had just taken a shower and was watching her sleep in her crib when she arched her back, stopped breathing and turned purple. I checked her for a blockage and then performed CPR and she began breathing again. She stopped breathing for a moment one more time so I gave her another couple of puffs of air and then she seemed fine. My husband was out walking the dogs and you'd think when he got home we'd have rushed right to the hospital, but we were so sleep deprived that it wasn't until his sister happened to call and we told her what had occurred and she said "so you're going to the hospital, right?" that we looked at each other and thought - "duh, we should go to the hospital". They admitted her and put her on an IV for mild dehydration and under the bili light for some jaundice, but they never could say what had happened. Even scarier to me was that they couldn't say whether she would have revived on her own if I hadn't been there to interve. Needless to say, it was months before I showered without Dave around to watch Arden.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11632169875293078310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6325294539825251986.post-22306837704953597312012-08-27T10:52:42.448-07:002012-08-27T10:52:42.448-07:00Wow, that is terrifying. Glad she did okay after you left the school. Thankfully my kids haven't had attachment issues, I don't know if I could leave if they were screaming and freaking out. I hope the rest of your week is nice and uneventful!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09342155495187087278noreply@blogger.com
