Dallas Zoo

***Don't forget the Giveaway in this post!***

Every year my mom and her kindergarten class go to the Dallas Zoo in May. We always have a good time, but this time was the best in years! Why you ask? Well for starters my mom got a motor scooter for $25 for the day that you can rent in the gift shop. It was AWESOME! Second, Laci was old enough to really enjoy the zoo. She even asked Saturday morning to go back. We told her that we would soon. Part of the reason we didn't just head right back was because she had a recital on Saturday night that I will tell you about tomorrow. But the other reason was that they had just opened the Giants of the Savanna exhibit and we know it would be INSANE. We got so lucky that they did a soft opening on Thursday. We had such a good time. Here are some pictures of the great time!

I have so many more pictures, but I don't really have time to add 113 of them. She had a blast, but the carousel was her favorite. I will add that into the butterfly post later.

Have a great Memorial Day!

Giveaway & Freezer Paper with Fabric Paint

***Disclaimer - Ok, so my pictures stink, but that is because I took them on my phone (I may replace them tomorrow if I can remember to take them with my camera).***

I found a new LOVE... Freezer Paper and Fabric Paint! If I thought making a cute shirt with a sewing machine was fun, this love has doubled and trippled a love for crafting that I never knew about.

Ok, so I have been hearing a lot about this freezer paper fabric paint craze and wanted to get in on a piece of the action. I have been looking at tutorials for quite some time now and found this one over at Craftster it is a great little 5 minute video on exactly how to do it. I was in disbelief that freezer paper could rock so much and not leave a mark on the shirt.

So here are my two shirts I made: The colors are way off in the picture, but the paint used is blue and black fabric paint and is very vibrant.
CA Claw
Megaphone

I love the CA Claw one because of what it stands for, and the Megaphone and Pom Poms one is REALLY cute on Laci (she wore it yesterday for her private).

*********************

Ok, for the GIVEAWAY! I have decided that I am going to make a shirt with freezer paper and fabric paint for someone or for their little tyke.

Also include your e-mail address in your entry.

Baby Levi Gift Basket

As I posted last week, a little frustrated... I got a call from my hubby saying that we missed a baby shower for his cousin Ryan's soon to be born little one Baby Levi. I was a little upset, because I don't like to miss functions and decided to quickly put together another "candy" basket. It was so cute! I embroidered EVERY piece in this basket from the washcloths to the big ole blanket that was about 15,000 stitches... Anyways, here are the pictures of the cute baby basket I made Ryan and Montana for Baby Levi.

Wordless Wednesday #5

Welcome to "Wordless Wednesday" at It's Sew Stinkin Cute. If you are one of those people who just love to take pictures then this is where you will want to be every Wednesday. What types of pictues should you share? The ones that just take your breath away, make you smile, and make you want to cry.

Last week Anne over at Anne's Antics joined me for the Wordless Wednesday post. She added a picture of one of her sweet dogs Mercedes. What a cutie! She has another shot where her other dog Abbigale was being camara shy. It's kinda cute! ***Anne be sure to grab the featured button***

Imagine my surprise when I get a call from the hubby (on May 17th) saying we missed a baby shower. ***AHEM*** WHAT???? How, when, why?!? Well this mail was in a box. Excuse me... lets just get this right... So you checked the mail, didn't open it, put it in a box, and found it later to tell me that I missed a shower on May 2nd. Has any one ever had a hubby do this? Needless to say, hubby got to be the one to call his Aunt and explain why I wasn't there. So, guess who's making a boy candy gift basket for Baby Levi in the next couple days? Well anywho, congrats to Montana and Ryan and their soon to be new addition Baby Levi. (So much for wordless - hehehe).

Now let's get a linkin!! Two things to remember:

Another Cheer Athletics Shirt

Tonight is another Cheer Athletics class. The picture below is the second finished shirt for Laci to wear. I think it is cute! I love polka dots. They are my favorite! Below I need some advice for another shirt.

P5180554

P5180555

Ok, so another one I am experimenting with is the yo-yo's. I love the shirt that Anne over at Anne's Antics did during her Mother's Day post. It has yo-yo's and they were made into flowers. So last week we got a "warning" on the fact that the CA logo is copyrighted. Let me state.... I am NOT going to be selling any items with CA logo or words. Since Laci isn't on team yet we don't have to buy all the gear that is required, and all the shirts & shorts they have is going to swamp the child since we are in a 2T-3T and the smallest they have is an XXS Shorts and a XS Shirt. I had already done the above shirt before the warning, but for the rest of the shirts we are thinking of going a little more plain with words like Cheer and Cheerleader and other stuff (not quite as cute, but won't get us in trouble). I like the look of the shirt below (not sewn down, but just laying there waiting for your advice) but the hubby said it doesn't look like a cheerleader shirt. Any suggestions?

P5170552
Oh, today's post marks my 98th post. It seems like just yesterday when I started this adventure. Tomorrow's Wordless Wednesday post will be 99 and It's Stinkin' Cute Thursday will be 100. WOW... So, if I get some good comments before Friday I might just consider doing a giveaway. But in addition to advice. I need to know what to do for a giveaway? Be sure to make suggestions so that can do one.

Baby Gift Basket for Landry

4/18/12 - I think it's super cool that someone posted this on facebook and a link... but I can't tell who it came from. I would love to thank them. If someone can leave a comment with who that would be awesome!!!

UPDATE due to some concern that I may have spelled something wrong... (thank you for your comments... that would have been horrible had this been a laundry basket and accessories):

* THE BABY'S NAME IS LANDRY GRACE HALLAM *

This is not a laundry basket...

Let me start by saying thank you to Ashley over at Cute as a Fox for all of her tutorials! I talk about them in this post.

They came to life in the last two days and below are pictures of my newest finished piece. It is for one of the ladies who’s son is the same age as Laci. We have become pretty good friends. Anyways, she didn’t register anywhere and just wanted receiving blankets and burp cloths and other girly things since she has a boy. I wanted to do something cute, so I did an awesome gift basket… Obviously the blanket is embroidered, but the other pieces are pictured below since they are hidden in the packaging.

Finished Landry Gift Basket

Close Up

Cupcake and Candy Swirl

Blanket

Burp Cloth

Ok, so I couldn’t find the Gerber wash cloths, so I used (2) full size wash cloths for each of the candy rolls. Not quite as swirly, but still pretty cute. I have (7) total pieces embroidered with Landry’s name on it. It turned out pretty cute didn’t it!?! Total Cost was more than I expected, but I am sure given more time I could have found less expensive wash cloths and with a coupon I could have gotten the burp cloth fabric cheaper.

What do you think? Turned out pretty cute huh? I am so excited to give this to her on Sunday!

I want to mention I have been given a Versatile Blogger Award from Anne over at Anne's Antics. I will be talking about this either tomorrow or Monday (probably Monday), because otherwise this post would be a mile long.

I can't wait to hear what you think about the gift basket!
